Hello there, thanks for stopping by.
I’m a twenty-something work at home mum & I spend the majority of my time crocheting, knitting and generally avoiding housework.
I began crocheting in October 2011 after the sudden death of my father left me feeling somewhat lost and in need of a new focus in life. Picking up a hook the same weekend he died and trying to learn a new skill, gave me the much needed calmness & a bit of headspace to process all the crazy things that were going on. I was a Phd student at the time, as well as a relatively new mum and still trying to get my head around that daily adventure of parenting. Through sheer determination and a little bit of help from a dear friend & her wool shop, I found the confidence in my work to make it a full time thing. In June 2012 I made the momentous decision to drop out of uni (eek!) and I’m now a full time hooker, in the crocheting sense!
You can buy some of my work through my Etsy shop and Facebook group.
I love making new things and being challenged by your ideas. I started off only using chunky yarn and a very big hook and now I’ll whip up a lacy sweater in 2 ply yarn with a teeny 2mm hook. Granted its not as quick as big & chunky, but its still incredible to make something from sticks and string.
I’m so grateful to each and every one of you for your support and for your custom. I couldn’t do it if it weren’t for you, so thank you ❤
