Mother’s Day Creativity

Mother’s Day is coming up soon here in the UK and it’s inspired me to create a new range of goodies with women in mind, that are great gifts any day not just on Mothering Sunday. I’ve also taken some inspiration from the daffodils blooming in my garden and the lovely spring colours everywhere. This little collection is floral and bright, but completely functional too.

My beloved Mummy won’t be here on Mothers Day as shes on her holidays, so I gave her some gifts last weekend instead. Her kitchen work tops are a lovely sky blue tile (they are lovely honestly) so I made her this lovely tea cosy decorated with flowers to match the amazing flowers blooming in her garden ❤

I also made her this super thick and insulated icelandic wool oven cloth, which I’ve used and its brilliant! I had the pan in my hand for ages & couldn’t feel a thing. Brill 🙂

A reusable shopping bag. Folds up small enough to keep in your handbag & is big enough for picking up those effentials on the way home from work/on the school run or to use as a beach bag on holiday!

I’ve kept these gorgeous slippers for myself.. they’re sooooo warm & cosy on my cold tiled floors.

These African flower inspired coasters could be turned into placemats or even repeated into a blanket.. thats definitely an idea I’ve got on my list for another day

I was just playing around a bit with this, to see what I could do with a bit of wool.. what do you think?

This little jewellery pouch is ideal for a weekend away & I’m planning on doing a modified version as a dinky little bag for the tooth fairy complete with a little tooth embroidered on the front!

I’m in love with this little make up bag & am definitely keeping it for myself. Its big enough to fit those essential toiletries for an overnight stay or short break, as long as you don’t need a million face creams or anything like that! You could use it as a crochet hook case, or as a pencil case too.

Hot water bottle covers. Essential. Everyone should have one, and who doesn’t love a good rainbow??

These super cute little baskets are great for storing jewellery on your dressing table, or perhaps cotton wool pads, or little trinkety things your kids bring you that you just can’t chuck out even if it really should be chucked out 🙂
